Your crew will welcome you onboard at approximately 5.00pm at the Wyndham Jetty with drinks and canapés. Soon after we will set off for the spectacular Berkeley River. Dinner will be served once we are underway, and then you will be free for the evening to settle into your room, familiarise yourself with the boat and relax.
The Kimberley’s Berkeley River has spectacular gorges, waterfalls and sandstone cliffs. This magnificent river system offers a wide variety of soft adventure options, including nature walks and swimming in freshwater rock pools. You will also have the opportunity to fish for Barramundi before enjoying a walk to a waterhole. In the afternoon, we will cruise back down the river and anchor just outside the river mouth for the late afternoon sunset drinks.
Your backdrop for breakfast will be cathedral-like gorges as we cruise down the magnificent King George River. You will be driven right up to the cascading waterfalls, and you can take a shower on the bow of the boat. We will then spend the day exploring and enjoying all the fantastic scenery this area has to offer.
We will kick things off with a fishing excursion to provide the daily lunch buffet. We target a variety of pelagic species here, including Giant Trevally, Queenfish, Tuna and Mackerel. There are also a few places to pick up a Mangrove Jack, Fingermark or Bluebone. We will then cool off with a quick swim before trekking over to view the mysterious Bradshaw (Gwion Gwion) ancient rock art galleries. Back onboard the boat, a sumptuous fresh lunch is served as we cruise into the cove to explore a crashed World War II DC3 plane. In the evening, we will cruise around the Osborne Islands.
Osborne Islands are a protected group of islands offering ample opportunity for adventure activities. We will start the day with a fishing excursion or a beach combing expedition. Later in the morning, the group will have the option to ride the helicopter into a remote waterfall location for a picnic lunch and swim. In the evening, if conditions are right, we will enjoy the sunset and a bonfire on a remote beach.
This open estuary river is the perfect hunting ground for the elusive Barramundi. We will also take the opportunity to drop some Mud Crab pots before kicking back to have a bite to eat. After lunch, there is an excursion to Surveyors Creek, which is a pretty little gorge about halfway down the Mitchell River, where you can enjoy a swim in a huge waterhole. Our last evening will be at anchor on the Mitchell River as we celebrate the week together.
It might be the final day of your cruise, but not the end of the spectacular scenery. Today you will be transferred from the boat via helicopter over the picturesque Mitchell Falls to the Mitchell Plateau airstrip. You will be met by a fixed-wing aircraft that will fly you back to Kununurra Airport for a transfer to your accommodation.

Today you will be transferred from Kunununura via light aircraft to the Mitchell Plateau airstrip. Here our helicopter will be waiting to take you on a scenic flight over the picturesque Mitchell Falls before landing on MV Great Escape to commence your cruise. This is a spectacular way to start your Kimberley adventure.

Winyalken is home to an abundance of ancient rock art sites, where we will have the opportunity to visit to see the fascinating Wandjina and Bradshaw (Gwion Gwion) art. White sandy beaches and clear water make this an attractive place to enjoy an ocean swim and beach-combing activities. This is a great fishing spot and a favourite to find fresh oysters.
