The mighty King George River starts with a sandy mouth into thick mangrove country. It flows into sandstone canyons which build as we cruise further into the river system.
The landscape has a grandeur which we like to refer to as the Kings of the Kimberley.
You will see the vertically sided sandstone canyons cutting into the almost flat plateau. About 10kms into the river system you will round a corner and be wowed by the King George Twin Falls. These waterfalls are fed by wet season rains draining from the Gardner Plateau, and will eventually dry up during the dry season.
At the King George Fall we nose the bow of the boat in close so that you can shower under the flowing water. A steep bushwalk is available to the top of the falls where you can swim in waterholes and marvel at the view over the edge.
If you prefer a helicopter transfer to the top of the falls is available. There are also some fantastic rock art sites in this area accessible via our onboard helicopter.
